An "ECO-monitor" function displays operating conditions to promote more efficient electricity use.

Before To save energy with a refrigerator, you needed to be careful not to 1) keep the doors open for long, or 2) set the temperature too low.

After With temperature sensors located in each compartment, the refrigerator automatically saves energy.

Room Air Conditioner

The "i-See Sensor" monitors the room to prevent wasted energy.

Before To save energy with an air conditioner, you needed to 1) turn it off when it was not necessary, 2) avoid setting the temperature too low, or 3) use a fan instead of the air conditioner.

After The "i-See Sensor" Air Conditioner monitors the presence and movement of people in the room, so that it is always comfortable. What's more, it automatically switches between cooling/heating and wind to save energy, while not compromising on comfort.

Before Conventional electric hot water systems used energy from electric heaters to heat an entire tank of water, and had no memory function.

After The heat pump hot water system uses a heat pump to heat only the amount of water needed, and provides a memory function that remembers user habits.

Before To save energy with a television, you needed to 1) promptly turn off the power when not watching TV 2) keep the screen brightness settings as low as possible.

After If nobody is present and watching the TV, 1) the screen is turned off automatically. 2)electricity is saved without effort by turning off the television automatically.

Large-scale High-purity Plastic Recycling of Home Appliances

Green Cycle Systems, established by Mitsubishi Electric in 2010, takes the shredded mixed plastic recovered by recycling plants and separates it into recyclable plastic on a scale of unprecedented magnitude.

Before Some easily disassembled plastic parts could be recycled for use in new appliances in a limited way.

After Mitsubishi Electric has realized a large-scale high-purity plastic recycling system for shredded mixed plastic.
