City Multi Air Conditioning System (Singapore)
an energy-efficient cooling system.
Mitsubishi Electric's City Multi air conditioning system is a key contributor to the Straits Trading Building's excellent energy efficiency rating.

In 2010, in the heart of Singapore's financial district a new, 28-storey Straits Trading Building opened in the same historic site as the previous version. Its striking design is not only eye-catching, the building is also a model of energy efficiency. Not surprisingly, it won the BCA Green Mark Gold Award for its environmentally friendly features. On every floor of the Straits Trading Building there is a Mitsubishi Electric City Multi system. A total of 290 indoor units and 105 outdoor units are installed.
Mitsubishi Electric's City Multi system is known for highly reliable operation, thanks to its "back-up and rotation" function. It allows some units to rest while others are running, reducing the workload on each individual unit to save on energy and maintenance costs. More importantly, if one indoor unit is shut down for maintenance, the other indoor units operating under the same outdoor unit can continue running without compromising the operation of the system or the building's comfort level.

Outdoor units installed with air guides to disperse hot air through louvres.
In addition, Mitsubishi Electric's inverter technology adjusts power usage in response to room conditions, enabling individual control of each unit for more efficient operation. Settings for each unit of a large commercial building's air conditioning system can be monitored and controlled from a single computer terminal, offering precise control of energy consumption and thus reducing electricity costs for the whole building.
When you add it all up, Mitsubishi Electric's City Multi system delivers earth-friendly, energy saving comfort—at some of the highest energy efficiency ratings in the industry—to one of Singapore's busiest commercial buildings.
